Malaria is a tropical disease isn’t it?

No, in fact the mosquito that carries malaria is prevalent in the UK but thankfully the disease has been removed, that’s right, it used to be common in our green and pleasant land. In fact, up until the beginning of the last century, especially in the fens and marshland areas, the “ague” was still often reported in this country and is a form of malaria!

And as we love to think we can predict the future, the men in white coats, have postulated that with climatic changes occurring as they are, in 50 years malaria could be a fact of life in Britain once again…
